Gemstone Malas

Mala necklaces are typically made with 108 beads hand knotted between each bead. One string for continuity is used beneath the beads and finishes at a larger focal Guru bead. Traditionally there is also a tassel at the center. Malas can be made of seeds, wood, or gemstones; depending on the preference of the wearer.

The Guru Bead

the 109th bead that represents the turning point on a Mala; reflects the awareness that one must have in every aspect of life. The guru bead allows for a moment to reflect on the importance of; and on your intentions, and motive for sitting in meditation.


The Tassel

A symbolic of lotus blossoms. The Lotus flower grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that it rises and blooms above the murk to achieve enlightenment. It is able to shine despite its surroundings.

Setting an intention is a practice in which we declare our hopes, our aims, and our truest desires to channel our energies and travel to a place of healing, and peace. You can set an intention with your Mala necklace then meditate with your intention or mantra.
